Putter Fitting

Taught by Mike Kanski and Phil Kenyon (putting Solution)

Opinions on a well-fitting putter vary widely. Therefore, I wanted to know exactly and looked for the best in Europe. I found them in England (Putting Solution). Phil Kenyon and Mike Kanski, both accompany PGA and European Tour players around the world with their knowledge of putting coaching and fitting. With Mike Kanski I was trained in putter coaching and fitting. With the collected knowledge, we will offer even better putter fitting in the future.

In the first photo, Phil Kenyon with Justin Rose, in the second Mike Kanski with Matt Wallace. Players currently coached by Mike Kanski and Phil Kenyon:

  • Francesco Molinari
  • Rory McIlroy
  • Henrik Stenson
  • Justin Rose
  • Lee Westwood
  • Louis Oosthuizen
  • Martin Kaymer
  • Thomas Bjorn
  • Darren Clarke
  • Matt Wallace (European Tour)
  • Jorge Campillo (European Tour)
  • Romain Wattel (European Tour)
  • Matthias Schwab (European Tour)
  • Stephen Gallacher (European Tour)
  • Robert Rock (European Tour)

For the putter fitting device, we chose the Capto System. I learned in England that this device is especially popular with professionals because it weighs only 47 grams and therefore does not “counterbalance” the putter. Parameters that this device measures:

  • Face angle
  • Shaft angle
  • Lie angle
  • Face vs optimal
  • Shaft (shaft lean) vs optimal
  • Lie vs optimal
  • Face rotation ° (degrees) /sec
  • Loft rotation (shaft lean) ° /sec
  • Lie rotation ° /sec
  • Club PathAngle of Attack
  • Path to arc
  • Loft (shaft lean) to arc
  • Handling
  • Trembling
  • Swing length
  • Backswing time
  • Forward swing to impact time
  • Total swing time
  • Tempo
  • Club directional speed
  • Club height speed
  • Ball speed
  • Ball direction
  • Launch
  • Lie to green / Lie deviation
  • Directional acceleration
  • Height acceleration
  • Energy dispersion
  • Torque dissipated energy
  • Forward press angles and time analysis
